Every year, the Met Gala is hosted with a theme that attendees are expected to dress in accordance with. This year, that theme was “white tie and decorations” in honor of legendary couturier Charles James. For the women, that meant sweeping ball gowns. For the men… well, evidently the theme was a little hard for the men to follow.

Seth Myers interviewed Met Gala chairs Anna Wintour and Sarah Jessica Parker on his show Late Night with Seth Myers, and according to the fashionable women, while the male attendees deserve credit for trying, only a few actually succeeded with their white-tie look.
