Mike Ross received another endorsement. This time, from a familiar place.

The Ward 10 Democratic Committee, comprised of Mission Hill and Jamaica Plain activists, officially endorsed Ross late Tuesday night.

“We look forward to publicizing our endorsement at the polls on election day, and providing volunteers to help get the word out about Mike between now and then,” said Craig Lankhorst, committee chair.

The Ward 10 committee cited Ross’ dedicated service to Mission Hill as city councilor.

“I’m honored to have the support of the Ward 10 Committee, and I look forward to working with them in the weeks ahead. Grassroots support will be key to this campaign, and it’s great to have the support of people who I’ve known for so long,” said Ross.

Ward 10 was the second committee to formally endorse Ross. In July, the Ward 21 committee, made up of members from Allston, Brighton and Fenway, gave Ross their endorsement.

“Councilor Ross stood out in a field of several qualified candidates as the one most able to use innovative ideas to create jobs, improve our schools, and modernize government,” said Lauren Mattison, the Committee Chair.

Other candidates, including John Connolly, Marty Walsh, Dan Conley and Charlotte Golar Richie, were in attendance last night seeking Ward 10’s endorsement.

Despite a deep field, Ward 10’s endorsement of Ross should not be seen as a surprise. Ross has lived in Mission Hill for six years.
