Babson College announced its 2011 Student Business of the Year Award today. Receiving the award is Min.us, founded in 2010 by students John Xie ’11 and Carl Hu ’11.

The company’s product is dubbed “the easiest and simplest way to share photos, documents, music, videos and files.” Their product features an easy drag and drop process of files from your desktop and folders directly into Min.us through the browser, or through the company’s many apps (desktop and mobile for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS). You can check out a quick video demo on the product right on their homepage.

We interviewed these exceptional students last October to spotlight their incredible story, which is a must read to understand where this idea came from, its path of development, and the technology involved. Min.us now enjoys 300,000 active users with more than 1 million uploads and more than 1 billion hits. They are already in the top 2,000 most trafficked websites in the US. They launched their iPhone and iPad app at this year’s SXSW in Austin, Texas — a venue that surely helped get the word out about their simply and seamless product.

Established in 1959, this Student Business of the Year Award is presented by the Babson College Alumni Association in recognition of ugrad students’ “outstanding commitment to launching and operating a successful enterprise while pursuing an education.”
