John Connolly has received the endorsement of City Councilor Sal LaMattina and State Senator Sal DiDomenico.

The endorsement was announced publicly, during a scheduled 1:30 p.m. press conference in Charlestown.

LaMattina’s and DiDomenico’s endorsements were the second and third of the day for Connolly, who, earlier, received the endorsement of North End Rep. Aaron Melchewitz.

A City Councilor representing Charlestown, East Boston and the North End, LaMattina, elected in 2006, previously worked in the Mayor’s office as the Neighborhood Liaison for the North End and East Boston.

LaMattina was the Director of Boston Transportation Department from 1999 until he was elected.

He serves as Chairman of the WARD 1 Democratic Committee, and is a member of the East Boston Project Advisory Committee and is the Founder of Eastie Pride Day.

DiDomenico has served as the Middlesex and Suffolk County State Senator since 2010. He is a member of the several committees, including the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies, and the Joint Committee on Education.

DiDomenico was recently named “Legislator of the Year” by the American Planning Association, the Middlesex Boys and Girls Club, the Joint Committee on Children’s Healthcare, and the Middlesex County Bar Association organizations.
