The 50/50. Chocolate Covered Bacon. Bakon Vodka. Man Bait. Bacon Java.
The trend around innovation in bacon simply isn’t going anywhere fast. You can sample the latest-and-greatest bacon innovations from top Boston chefs paired, nonetheless, with some of the best craft brews in New England at the 2011 Bacon & Beer Festival. (And we are so in.)
Arguably the most innovative event to ever come out of Hub, the Bacon & Beer Festival took the city by storm in its debut last year. Tickets for the second annual festival are on sale NOW (as in 1PM sharp), and it runs on Saturday afternoon, April 30th at Royale on Tremont St. Last year the event sold out FAST, so we suggest you click through to make your purchase stat.
For a $35 ticket ($45 if you’re baller), you will have over two hours to eat and drink your face off: bacon based dish samples paired with great New England brews. What’s best: all of the proceeds benefit our local hunger relief organizations Lovin’ Spoonfuls, Community Servings, and Share Our Strength.
Behind the event: Aaron Cohen of foodie haven Eat Boston. He is on a mission to bring breweries and restaurants together to celebrate the deliciousness (and innovations) happening in bacon and beer. (We learned the beginnings of the movement last year if you care to read more!)
Coming off from rave reviews last year from everyone we know who attended, this year’s festival promises not to disappoint. Want to know the chef’s and breweries you’ll be sampling? Check out the long list below (well more than the 40 restaurants and breweries who joined last year):
