UPDATE (4:01 pm ET): “several people seen taken out of the building in handcuffs after the shooting were not suspects and simply been inside during the shooting.”- St. Louis Post-Dispatch

A shooting occurred this afternoon in St. Louis inside a Cherokee St. building. Initial reports pegged multiple injuries though 4 are reported dead, 2 women and 2 men, according to more recent reports. At least a dozen police cars and two ambulances had responded to the scene.

Around 1:40pm CT, shots rang out in Cherokee Place Business Incubator with at least one man and two women having since been taken into custody, according to once source though another suggests that police say that there is no active search for a shooter. The building and others surrounding have been evacuated by the police and fire departments,  with Cherokee street  blocked off from in a perimeter from Iowa to Jefferson.

KTVI is currently reporting that there is a massive police and emergency presence in the area, suggesting the possibility of an upcoming search.
