As if being on one of the NBA’s top basketball teams wasn’t enough, Miami’s Chris Bosh has also emerged as one of its best-dressed athletes. And now? The 6? 11? power forward has taken his impeccable style and turned it into his next business venture. Enter Mr. Nice Ties, a collection of ties and bow ties he designed as part of a collaboration with Canadian accessories brand Armstrong & Wilson. The Daily Beast reports on the inspiration behind the line.

“As a child, he remembers watching his father, ‘a very sharp dresser,’ add the final touches to his suits—a tie,” says Justin Jones of The Daily Beast. “The moment [Chris] was finally able to loop a knot by himself was a milestone, his first step to becoming a man. His ability to translate that fleeting moment into a tangible design that others can wear has been a meaningful experience.”

Chris explains he’s never been much of a risk-taker and that simplicity is key, so the colors and patterns in his collection are muted, but the fabrics are high-end. “I was really trying to make something as an expression of myself,” he says. “I love ties and this is really something I wanted to get into.”

What’s next, Chris? World domination?
