Tucked away behind the busy pedestrian-laden streets of the North End, you’ll find Boston restaurateur Frank DePasquale’s latest restaurant venture in the works. Behind the upscale Hanover Street restaurant, Bricco, lies Bricco Panetteria and Bricco Salumeria & Pasta Shop on the discreet Board Alley. Next door will be an “as-of-yet-unnamed seafood restaurant that will offer a fairly unique vantage point,” according to the Boston Herald.

If you’ve ever paid a visit to the quaint Bricco Salumeria, you may have noticed a backdoor leading out to a desolate (for now) patio. The Boston Herald is reporting that the backdoor will lead to DePasquale’s newest seafood restaurant.

The article is reporting that the seafood restaurant will have a patio that sits “above the entrance to the Sumner Tunnel, with view of the Boston skyline.” And there will most likely be “no frontage on Hanover Street.”

This could be good for Boston residents who are looking to bypass the North End tourists. It’s reported that the restaurant will only be accessible via Mechanic Street, “a narrow dead end off of Hanover, and via a backdoor entrance through Bricco Salumeria.”

The Boston Herald reports that DePasquale is expecting the “seafood restaurant to open this June” – perfect for patio-hopping this summer. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about the restaurant concept and offerings.
