I don’t know about you but growing up, my strict parentals made this adage crystal clear in our household. In high school when the clock struck 10:30 p.m., I skedaddled from wherever I was and rushed home. And as far as my goody two-shoes self (and 11 p.m. curfew) could tell, nothing much good did happen after midnight.

That is, until I discovered Bricco Pizza at 2am on Hanover Street. Everyone knows Bricco has some of the best food in the North End. It’s a great date spot, a great family dinner spot and certainly one of the best restaurants to celebrate a special occasion. Not to mention Esquire Magazine voted Bricco as one of the “Top Ten Restaurants in America” – can’t argue with that. But chances are, you probably don’t peg it for a late night grub destination.

However, if you find yourself wandering around the North End after 11:30 p.m. (maybe stumbling home from a “happy hour” that turned into five happy hours), make your way through the cobble stoned streets to Bricco for their brick-oven pizzas. Starting at 11:30 p.m., the Italian restaurant offers a late night pizza menu as well as a number of swanky late-night cocktails.

Mmm and it’s so good – I’ve been known to venture down to Bricco late-night just for their pizza. In my opinion, it’s actually one of the best pizza spots (and best kept pizza secrets) in Boston. And, no curfew, no problem: this Italian spot is open until 2 a.m. It’s also conveniently located across the street from Improv Asylum – so if you plan on hitting up their midnight showing of Raunch, you can grab some grub before the clock strikes 2 … in the morning.
