Cloud database software company NuoDB announced today that they have raised $10 million in series B funding. The Cambridge-based company notes in its press release that the latest investment will go towards the further development their cloud database software while some of the money will be allocated towards sales and marketing.

NuoDB is a highly touted player in elastically scalable database software intended for the cloud. Their system supports all the features of today’s most popular client/server RDBMS systems into a client/cloud system.

The Series B funding round was led by existing investors Morgenthaler Ventures, Hummer Winbald Venture Partners, and Longworth Venture Partners. With the addition of $10 million, NuoDB has raised a total of $12 million to date.
