If you thought this logo (above) was bad – wait until you see the rest. The 80s, in particular, were clearly a tough time for design everywhere. But that aside, many of the old vintage Olympics logos are actually really interesting and detailed.

And if nothing else – they certainly reveal how design has evolved over the past 100 years. According to Fast Company’s latest article, the Sochi logo is a minimalist, non-traditional design. It’s described as only “an odd design in the grand spectrum of previous Olympics.” Meaning that compared to others, Sochi’s is nothing.
