A three-alarm fire in Cambridge Wednesday morning left one woman dead and none others injured. The fire is thought to have started at 3:45 a.m. on the second floor of an apartment by Inman Square.

The fire has since been quelled by Cambridge Fire Department Ladder 1 though the fire spread to the building neighboring 240 Prospect Street, where the fire originated.

According to WCVB, “Crews performed CPR on the woman, who is believed to be in her 30s, at the scene. She later died, fire officials said” upon being brought to a local hospital. It’s thought she died due to cardiac arrest.

The Boston Globe reports that the incident has left five adults and one teenager homeless, and Deputy Chief Bokuniewics estimates the damage to be approximately $500,000.

The name of the woman who tragically passed away in the fire has not yet been released and the cause of the blaze has yet to be determined.
