Andover-based Exit41, the company offering a SaaS platform for restaurants in need of multi-channel ordering solutions, just announced three new restaurant additions to its client roster including Bertucci’s. The last time we wrote about Exit41 was back in November, when the company announced their Facebook ordering solution. As a whole the company is marketing itself as the leading provider of social ordering solutions for the restaurant industry with the tagline “Link. Like. Eat.”

Here’s how the solution integrates within a restaurant’s Facebook page:

Exit41 was founded in 1999, and has raised $21.8M to date, including seed money from Fidelity Investments and a most recent $6M round in April of last yearfrom Dace Ventures, GrandBanks Capital, and Contour Venture Partners.

The company’s solutions offer real-time point of sale integration and span ordering channels well beyond Facebook, including:

  • Websites: Custom-branded, online ordering sites that integrate with restaurant websites (see it in action on Wildwood Barbecue in NYC’s site)
  • Mobile: iPhone applications (see screenshots here)
  • iPad Kiosk: This takes much from their iPhone app scaled up to take advantage of the iPad’s larger screen, offering self-service to customers who can place orders right at their tables or while in line (see screenshots here)
  • Phone-In: Since the majority of orders are still placed on the phone, Exit41 also delivers a solution for this channel which was developed in collaboration with restaurants processing 20M+ phone orders in a call center (see screenshots here)

The fact that Exit41 spans all these channels makes it a one-stop-shop for restaurants looking to extend their presence and drive incremental sales across online channels. This provides an edge for the company against other solutions that might only focus on, say, mobile.

“Our customers are increasingly using the web and mobile to view our menus, find locations and make plans for lunch or dinner. We need to give them tools to further engage with our brand and convert these interactions into sales,” said Skip Weldon, SVP marketing, Bertucci’s. “Our take-out business is a major revenue driver for us, and our partnership with Exit41 is critical to opening up new sales channels that will build continued revenue growth of this business and drive customer loyalty.”

The restaurants included in Exit41’s press release the company deems critical to strategic growth are:

  • Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant, a Northeast-based chain with 94 locations that will be marketing its new social ordering capabilities as a key component in growing  its “Brick Oven To Go” business
  • Sweetgreen, a D.C.-based chain serving all-natural salads and frozen yogurts recently named one of FastCausual.com’s Top 100 Movers and Shakers, which sees Social Ordering as a natural fit into the Sweetgreen brand embracing food, lifestyle and community
  • Le Pain Quotidien, (meaning “the daily bread”) an international chain of 150 bakery-cafés across 18 countries serving simple boulangerie fare, which will offer Social Ordering  for its US-based locations, including metropolitan areas with heavy to-go business in New York, Los Angeles and DC

“We are thrilled to have been chosen by Bertucci’s, Sweetgreen and Le Pain Quotidien as their Social Ordering partner, “ said Chet Barnard, CEO of Exit41. “We are seeing more and more restaurants identifying both online ordering and social media as key strategic initiatives. Exit41 is uniquely positioned to tie the pieces together in a powerful solution that enables the restaurant to achieve its unique brand, revenue and customer growth objectives.”
