There is still a snow emergency in effect in the city of Boston as of Tuesday morning, several days after the worst of the blizzard bypassed the region, and crews are working feverishly to do away with the piles of snow left haunting the sidewalks and street corners.
Mayor Thomas Menino has launched a full-blown attack on the snow mounds, initiating a designated task force to fight the burdensome buildup.
But while the ban is still in effect days later, drivers in the Boston-area have done their own digging. And although some people don’t believe in the practice of saving a parking spot once it has be cleared out, others would disagree.
The unofficial city rules state that motorists can leave a parking saver—whether it be a television screen or chair with a snarky note—for up to 48-hours once a ban is lifted. Until then, as residents walk through the Hub, they can expect to see an array of items decorating a vacant spot once filled with winter snow.
