The jingle of the neighborhood ice cream truck usually means that a Spongebob Squarepants treat with black gumballs for eyes is waiting for you down the street. Run! Except this Thursday, it means much more than that. It means that you’ll be able to find former Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez, who will be peddling free frozen treats from Good Humor for one afternoon only.

After a successful first run of the inaugural Good Humor and Pedro Martinez partnership last summer, the baseball legend is at it again. On Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. outside of the Prudential Building, you can score free ice cream treats as they’re passed out by Martinez himself. The Good Humor Man will also be on hand at the event, and there will be plenty of photo opportunities during the afternoon. The event kicks off the summer’s Good Humor Joy Fleet tour, which will make its way to different Boston neighborhoods throughout the course of the season.

The Good Humor Joy Fleet consists of the ice cream truck and several more squad cars, and you can follow their journey on Facebook and Twitter as they hand out treats and more fun surprises to Bostonians this summer. Pedro Martinez is already getting the buzz going as he prepares to pass out treats on Thursday:
