Every February and September designers continue to think outside the box – or, in the case of New York Fashion Week, the Lincoln Center tents – when it comes to presenting their work. Over the winter, Alexander Wang drew guests to (gasp!) Brooklyn Navy Yard, while last fall Rick Owens had college step squads sport his clothing instead of supermodels. And next month, Opening Ceremony will push the envelope with a one-act play in lieu of a traditional runway show.

The ultra-hip brand is still working on a script for its September 7 production, which is just a couple weeks away. But before you start labeling them procrastinators, keep in mind that OC is working with Academy Award–winning director (and frequent collaborator) Spike Jonze. Also on the playbill? Everyone’s fave funny man Jonah Hill, who sadly won’t be on stage but will have a writing credit.

Now, the suspense builds: What on earth is the storyline? Whatever the outcome, I’m excited to see the collection in action.
