Every time we turn around, a new Pret A Manger cafe location is popping up somewhere in Boston. And now, it looks like the cafe chain is on the brink of yet another opening – rejoice!

According to an official source, the London-based sandwich cafe plans to open a new location at 1 State Street on Friday, October 17. That’s good news for those of us who work and/or live in the downtown area.

The new location is part of a major Pret A Manger expansion throughout the Hub. Earlier this year, Banker & Tradesman reported that the sandwich cafe chain was looking to “expand with at least a dozen cafes in Boston and Cambridge over the next four to five years.”

Eater Boston reported this week (via @hiddenboston) that Pret A Manger’s Back Bay location has closed. This means that the State Street location will be the 5th Boston location for Pret A Manger, now that the Back Bay outpost has shuttered.
