The night’s not even close to over yet, but we’re already rounding up some of the biggest fashion trends at the Academy Awards (we couldn’t help it, and really, can you blame us?). Check out a few of our favorites below.

1. Nontraditional Tuxes
It’s true – gowns always get all the Oscars attention. But so far, this year’s menswear is certainly giving starlets’ dresses a run for their money. From Matthew McConaughey’s and Jared Leto’s crisp white tuxedos to Pharrell Williams’s jacket-and-shorts pairing, 2014 men’s formalwear has been anything but boring.

2. Neutral Gowns
Pastel gowns were a big bet for this year’s red carpet, and while Lupita Nyong’o did go with a gorgeous powdery blue, neutral hues have otherwise been stealing the show. Cate Blanchett opted for a “heavy” nude Armani Privé number, Naomi Watts went with a white Calvin Klein gown, and Charlize Theron wore a curve-hugging black dress.

3. Chic Umbrellas
In the days leading up to the Oscars, the red carpet was so soaked from the nonstop rain in L.A. that it actually had to be squeegeed. Thankfully, the rain seems to be holding off right now, but for those who arrived earlier during the evening drizzle, umbrellas were a must-have accessory.
