On Saturday, April 12, Red Sox legend Johnny Pesky’s baseball memorabilia will be sold at a live auction at Fenway Park. Pesky, who passed away in 2012 at the age of 93, was an All-Star for the Red Sox back in 1946 and coached the club from 1963 to 1964, then again in 1980.

Maybe you’ve heard of Pesky’s Pole?

According to the Associated Press, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Jimmy Fund.

Hunt Auctions is organizing the sale and is soliciting signed baseballs, some with the accompanying signatures of greats Jimmie Foxx and Ted Williams, Pesky’s 2004 and 2007 World Series rings, and various pieces of art, photographs and persona effects.

According to Hunt’s website, Pesky’s ’04 World Series ring will be the big money-maker, with an estimated take of up to $100,000. The ’07 ring will also surely prove to be worth a pretty penny with an estimated value of $40,000.

Not everything will be Pesky’s but the majority will. There are collectibles of other players like Foxx and Williams, Jim Rice and Rodger Clemens.

Affectionately known as “Mr. Red Sox,” Pesky called Fenway Park home in 1942, then again between 1946 to 1952. Like Ted Williams between 1943 and 1945, he set aside his major league career to serve his country during WWII.
