A Rhode Island-based brew has finally made its way to Boston’s beer market. The Boston Herald reports that Revival Brewing Co. “recently hit Boston after three years of wowing Ocean State beer drinkers.” I, myself, haven’t had the opportunity to taste Revival’s brew quite yet, but am looking forward to trying it soon.

The Boston Herald reports that Revival’s “first local account was Ester in Dorchester,” a bar and restaurant which opened one month ago. The bar is located in historic Lower Mills at the property formerly occupied by The Ledge. The Revival beer is available at Ester on draft only but has “since found their way to a long list of accounts in the region,” notes the Herald.

Revivals Brewmaster, Sean Larkin, explained to the Herald that the beer company was relying on their reputation and “on getting into those places where people really want us” for success. After all, “Boston is a huge, competitive marketplace” says Larkin.

The brewmaster has also served as a brewing consultant for Narragansett as well as the longtime beer maker at Providence’s Trinity Brewing Co, reports the article.

Since Revival’s debut, the beer has garnered plenty of love from the Rhode Island beer community. The Boston Herald notes that “Revival was named Best of Rhode Island by the Providence Phoenix” as well as strong scores and reviews on BeerAdvocate.com.

Currently, the beer company offers up several different beers including their Revival Saison, Imperial Octoberfest, Double Black I.P.A., Juliett 484, and Irish Stout. However, the article reports that the company is “being very selective” about what they bring in, according to United sales executive David Sharrow.

One thing’s for sure – we’re looking forward to trying Revival as the beer company pours into the Boston area this year. Cheers!
