It’s almost here! After months of anticipation, Assembly Row will welcome River Bar this Wednesday, November 12, according to an official source. The new eatery and bar is restaurateur Ken Kelly’s fifth dining establishment in Somerville (others include The Independent, Foundry on Elm, Saloon and Brass Union).

The soon-to-be-opened River Bar boasts a 1,300 sq ft space. The restaurant’s outdoor space encompasses a 2,600 sq ft patio where guests can dine year-round, as the space will be covered and heated during the winter months. The outside area will include a bar, couches, fire pits and views of the Mystic River, according to a release.

The restaurant’s kitchen is helmed by Chef Patrick Gilmartin, formerly of Staff Meal Food Truck and Rialto. Described as “elevated street food” by the release, the menu will meld Gilmartin’s fine dining and food truck backgrounds into one concept. Menu highlights include: Shrimp Chips, Gratineed Littlenecks, Chorizo Scotch Quail Eggs, Housemade Chinese Sausage Sub, and Whole Grilled Fish – just to name a few.

River Bar will open for weekday lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekend brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and daily dinner from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. There will also be a late night menu. If you go, River Bar is located 661 Assembly Row in Somerville.
