Summer is the official season of road trips. And this week at Rue, we’re taking our own. Each day we’ll pay tribute to a new stop along the way – and all the signature style that goes with it. Gas up the car and come along for the ride.

First Up, Nantucket
What to Wear: Seersucker. Nantucket reds. Anything and everything striped and nautical. This island represents classic American preppy style at its finest.
Where to Stay: Nantucket Island Resorts. Go the route of a historic three-story brick mansion at Jared Coffin House or retreat to a one-bedroom suite at White Elephant Village.

Next Stop, Manhattan
What to Wear: This city never sleeps (but it’s okay if you do while you’re there). Just outfit every waking moment with a bit of gritty, citified edge. When in doubt? Wear black.
Where to Stay: The Bryant Park Hotel. Celebs flock to this trendy Midtown hot spot, and so should you. Broadway shows and world-famous cuisine are just steps away.

Next Stop, Charleston
What to Wear: Think Southern charm in spades. Flirty, feminine dresses and bold jewelry for her. Linen suits and pocket squares for him.
Where to Stay: Charleston Place Hotel. Between the Old World spiral staircases, rooftop saltwater pool, and more, this historic hotel is the picture of Southern hospitality.

Next Stop, Miami
What to Wear: Break out the itty-bitty bikinis, rompers, and high-heeled dancing shoes. You’re on the beach by day, at the club by night, listening to Latin beats at all times.
Where to Stay: The Biltmore Hotel. Home to the largest hotel pool in the country – seriously – just reserve a private cabana, bring a good book, and lounge.

Final Stop, L.A.
What to Wear: Easy, breezy, Cali-cool style rules. Maxis with wedge sandals for women. Graphic tees with shorts and hoodies for men. And of course, sunglasses for all.
Where to Stay: The Moment Hotel. A boutique hotel on Hollywood’s Guitar Row (right near Sunset Boulevard), an electric atmosphere pretty much comes with the territory.

Ready to set out to Nantucket? Outfit your trip. Our Road Trip Across America: First Up, Nantucket and Road Trip Across America: Men’s Nantucket Style Boutiques opened Monday, July 14, at 11AM ET.
