A bench in the Boston Public Garden pays tribute to Robin Williams, the 63-year-old acting legend who was found dead in his California home Monday.

Williams won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1998 for his role as psychologist Sean Maguire in “Good Will Hunting.” In one of the film’s most memorable scenes, Sean (Williams) meets Will Hunting (Matt Damon) on a bench in the Boston Public Garden. For four-plus minutes, Williams delivers arguably the best monologue of his storied career, lecturing Damon on the importance of getting to know someone before passing judgement:

I don’t see an intelligent, confident man… I see a cocky, scared shitless kid. But you’re a genius Will. No one denies that. No one could possibly understand the depths of you. But you presume to know everything about me because you saw a painting of mine, and you ripped my fucking life apart… You think I know the first thing about how hard your life has been, how you feel, who you are, because I read Oliver Twist? Does that encapsulate you?

On Twitter Monday night, Nicholas Rabchenuk (@rabbitnutz) posted a picture of the Public Garden bench, which now pays tribute to Williams. White footprints have been drawn and Sean Maguire quotes – as well as others from Williams’ career –  have been written on the walkway behind the bench, to honor his life, career, and acting role in “Good Will Hunting.”

Tuesday morning, @Hedge76 tweeted a daytime picture of the Williams Memorial.

Police said Monday that Williams’ death was an apparent suicide.
