Rockstar Games released a new trailer and new game art for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V. The Verge noted this morning that despite the fact that the popular car-stealing video game franchise is still at least five months away, Rockstar is upping the promotional efforts to help stir a buzz. Along with the GTA series, Rockstar publishes Midnight Club, Max Payne, Smuggler’s Run, Manhunt, and Red Dead Revolver. Check out the Grand Theft Auto V trailer video below!

The trailer gives fans a closer look at Michael, Franklin, and Trevorm, Grand Theft Auto V’s three main characters . The enormous virtual  world that Rockstar describes as the largest it’s ever created, Los Santos, is on full display in the trailer as well. A slew of new images are also appearing alongside the trailer, and they can be found at Rockstar’s website.

Pre-order for GTA V is currently available in the U.S on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. As for a hard release, a blog post on Rockstar’s website states plainly that the game will be available for purchase this fall. More specifically “Grand Theft Auto V will arrive in stores on September 17, 2013.”

The blog continues to issue an apology as the September release date is actually a four-month delay. While I’m sure this may be frustrating to the GTA faithful, I’m sure the game will be worth the wait. Despite leaning a bit toward the more violent side, I’ve dabbled in GTA a few times in my day and have to admit its rather entertaining.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated as to any trailers or images that Rockstar releases in the future. Until then, keep us updated as to whether you enjoy the Grand Theft Auto franchise or not. Will the latest installment be worth a four month delay? Will it stack up against its predecessors? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.
