“Sporting the hottest brands or trends isn’t necessarily style – confidence is what makes it. ” – Rob Wu, executive assistant at Rue La La

Who hasn’t – at one point or another – found themselves completely addicted to the popular e-commerce site, Rue La La? There’s no denying that the fast-growing “flash sale” site, which puts designer goods in the hands of everyday consumers, is changing the way America shops.

At the intersection of fashion and technology is a company connecting its members (and customers) with high-end merchandise via email and mobile apps. Not through the typical brick-and-mortar store like so many other retail companies.

And let’s face it – those daily Rue La La emails are pure designer eye candy for me and everyone else receiving them. The allure of the company’s “flash sales” on luxe accessories, clothing and home goods can’t be denied. And it has made snagging a real deal (read: steal) for consumers that much easier.

Boston-based Rue La La is certainly pushing the boundaries in the realm of retail. And with the company’s headquarters located just across the Channel in Fort Point, its trendy employees also happen to be pushing Boston into a more fashion-forward city – one outfit at a time.

We decided to check out the Fort Point headquarters for ourselves to get a sense of what Rue La La employees actually wear to work on a daily basis. We were not disappointed. If you step inside the offices of Rue La La, you’ll find yourself surrounded by smiles, friendly office chatter, plenty of bagels and of course, great shoes.

Take a look at some of the Rue La La employee looks and hear more about how Rue La La is bringing innovation to the fashion world at BostInno’s State of Innovation Forum on Thursday, June 12. Susan Standiford, CTO of Rue La La, and other retail industry leaders will be discussing the future of retail and technology.
