This week was met with a slew of new tech releases, notably from  Google at its annual Google I/O, BlackBerry at its BlackBerry Live event, and Nokia at its London event. But Samsung has a few new gadgets to0. The latest of which is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0.

The 8.0 is an 8-inch version of the current 7-incher out there. But that doesn’t mean the specs aren’t suitable. The 8.0 will use Android’s 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, likely by Exynos. The 8-inch display has a 1280 x 800 resolution. The tablet will also sport a 5mp rear camera, a 1.3mp front camera, and will offer 16GB of storage with microSD support for an additional 64GB. It will feature 1.5GB of RAM.

Other details include Bluetooth 4.0 and a 4450mAH battery. Samsung fan site SamMobile was able to get its sticky fingers on the image you see above and if accurate, it looks as though the slim dimensions, being 6.95mm thick, could make for one of the thinnest and most conveniently-held tablets out there today.

As for the all important price and release date, unfortunately there are no solid answers to report at this time. However, at the end of April I wrote that the 8.0 would release hot on the heels of the 7.0, which was made available this month, so its not a long shot to think the 8.0 could make its debut by the end of June.
