Back in July, Society of Grownups offered people moving to certain areas of Greater Boston $2,000 worth moving service expenses if they could explain why they deserved it. Society of Grownups, which is planning to open a store in Brookline come October, offers people advice on how to navigate the trials and tribulations of being an adult. Part of that, unfortunately, is moving.

In order to win the coveted free move, people were urged to tweet their moving horror stories and those most in need would be rewarded for their troubles. Three clear winners of the competition emerged, each as deserving of the prize as the next. Take a look at their hellish situations below and you’ll see why:

Given that Allston Christmas is right around the corner – and that Allston Christmas is not, in fact, limited strictly to Allston – Society of Grownups will be helping people moving in Brookline this weekend, as well. On September 1, the seemingly universal moving date for Boston and neighboring Brookline, Society of Grownups will be canvassing the latter and handing out boxes.

The friendly idea is to lend a helping hand during this tumultuous time to those who need to box up some last-minute items. And, given their easily identifiable mint green hue, they hope to spread the word about themselves.

According to their website, Society of Grownups will open its store at 1653 Beacon Street in Brookline in October. There, anyone interested in learning about what it takes to be a mature, responsible adult will have the opportunity to take classes, receive financial advice, enjoy guest lecturers, share ideas and plenty more.
