Love to look out for celebs filming local movies? It’s time to add a few more stars to your watch-out-for list, as the movie “Spotlight,” starring Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schrieber and more, has begun filming around Boston.

“Spotlight” tells the story of the Boston Globe team that investigated, and ultimately exposed, the Catholic Church sex abuse scandal in 2001. What the Globe team uncovered rocked the Catholic Church, as well as Boston and the rest of the world. The film is directed by Thomas McCarthy, and written by McCarthy and John Singer. Ruffalo will play Globe reporter Michael Rezendes, Schrieber will portray Globe editor Marty Baron, and McAdams will play reporter Sacha Pfeiffer.

According to IMDb, “Spotlight” began filming in Boston on September 26, and the Boston Globe ‘Names’ section reported that the crew was filming at the company’s offices in Dorchester and Fenway Park earlier this week. Today, Caught in Southie wrote they heard a rumor that they could be filming today and tomorrow in South Boston.

The film is scheduled for a 2015 release. Other notable cast members include Michael Keaton and Stanley Tucci.
