Say goodbye to wasted weekends because it looks as though a new nightclub is heading to downtown Boston. And with it – a lot of good things happening after midnight in this town.

Eater Boston reports that Stage, an “American Vaudeville Nightclub,” is coming to the Hub and will “open in the alley off of Boylston Street, by Emerson.” Zagat reported that the nightclub should open sometime this year, and will be run by the same group that’s behind the Brahmin.

So what exactly does “Vaudeville” mean? Vaudeville was a theatrical genre of entertainment that was wildly popular back in the early 1900’s. And it looks as though it may have a future second wave in Boston. Zagat reports that “the vaudeville-inspired space will boast multiple stages and ‘luxurious and classic’ decor that nods to the 1900-1930s era of cabaret theater.”

Apparently, “auditions are now underway for performers of all kinds,” according to Eater Boston. So hopefully (fingers crossed) it won’t be long until this space is open. For more pictures and information, check out the nightclub’s space, here.
