It looks like those long lines at the coffee shop could be a thing of the past.

According to the AP (via Huffington Post), Starbucks will begin offering a delivery option on its mobile app in 2015. After the company’s less than desirable fiscal fourth quarter results yesterday, October 30, it looks like the chain will begin shaking things up next year.

The new move will be a step forward in adapting “to changing customer habits,” the article notes. Previously this year, Starbucks also announced plans to let customers place orders via their mobile app by next year – all in an effort to boost sales and build customer loyalty, adds the report.

CEO Howard Schultz explained these new efforts to the AP, claiming “We are playing offense.” Starbucks has also been in the process of stepping up its food game lately. According to the article, Starbucks has been “revamping its sandwiches and adding new offerings like a grilled cheese sandwich.”

As for the new delivery feature, we can expect it to be available via mobile app at “select areas of the U.S.” next year. We can only hope that the Boston area makes the cut.
