Cloaked in a shroud of mystery, the now Stranger viral trailer has the internet buzzing. Released by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, the trailer is nothing but a black and white clip of a man crawling along a beach to the background noise of a voice-over. The ominous phrase “Soon he will know” appear on the screen before one by one, the words disappear. Whoa.

Very little is known about what the trailer is for and why it was released now. All that’s known at this point is that Abrams sent the clip to various Hollywood-heavy media outlets like Entertainment Weekly and Variety, with absolutely no accompanying details. A quick perusal of movie aggregator site IMDB and the big-budget feature film/television showrunner’s profile illuminates no insight as it says under the Producer and Director headlines that he’s currently working on the latest installment of the perpetually popular saga Star Wars with Star Wars: Episode VII.

Adding to the intrigue is that Bad Robots Productions “has several projects in development,” according to Variety “including an event series based on a script from “Twilight Zone” creator Rod Serling as well as the Stephen King JFK time traveling property ’11/22/63.'”

Abrams did co-create the popular and equally mysterious show Lost, which left many viewers wondering what would happen next after seemingly every episode. The final episode generated some serious notoriety as being very polarizing, often living up to expectations or being devastatingly disappointing to many viewers though unfortunately is how many series finale episodes end up being.

Even the YouTube page from where the above trailer is derived has been left completely blank under the description section.
