If you’ve ever wondered whether Boston was a city full of cheapskates, you may be pleasantly surprised. According to Swipely’s “Restaurant Rumble” data, the Hub isn’t all that bad when it comes to leaving a tip and eating out, in general.

The data compares three East Coast foodie cities, Boston, NYC and D.C., to find out diner spending, tips and customer loyalty. Several notable stats from the infographic (below) show that Boston tippers, on average, leave a 21% tip – higher than NYC’s average tip size.
