Commuters may soon be able to quench their thirst at South Station once again. Universal Hub is reporting that Tavern in the Square is looking to purchase a liquor license from the United Airlines Terminal C Lounge at Logan Airport for use at South Station.

Previously, Clarke’s was the only restaurant that sold alcohol at South Station, leaving a very dry void since it shut down in January 2013. Tavern in the Square, or TITS as the locals like to refer to it, would be a welcome addition for commuters waiting on their (inevitably delayed) trains.

The chain goes before the Boston Licensing Board on July 31st to make its case for the liquor license and a 2 a.m. closing time.
