Living in Allston as a recent college student, I associate Tavern in the Square (or TITS, if ya nasty) with those select Friday and Saturday nights that I’d rather pretend never happened.

Now, we can officially translate those poor decisions (although I’m sure the Porter and Central Square locations are considerably less regret-inducing) to our travel time: Tavern has obtained the liquor license it was looking for in order to open up shop at South Station, becoming the only alcohol service in the station since Clarke’s shuttered in January. While the company made its case for both a license and a 2 a.m. closing time before the Boston Licensing Board on July 31, the operating hours will end at 11 p.m., according to a Craigslist post seeking out the new location’s manager.

The post also states that the new Tavern will feature over 30 draft beers, a full bar, flat screen TVs, and a “creative” food menu. So if traveling by train in Boston stresses you out, you can breathe a sigh of relief. There’s soon to be a bar seat waiting for you at South Station.
