On Nov. 13, EverTrue CEO and founder Brent Grinna will join Dave Gerhardt—the host of the Tech in Boston podcast—for the program’s first recording in front of a live audience. The event will be held at General Assembly Boston, located on Melcher Street in Fort Point.

The live event will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and tickets are free via the event page.

Back in April, we interviewed Gerhardt when he first began the Tech in Boston podcast. Since then, he has produced 21 podcasts with guests from local companies including HubSpot, CoachUp and Terrible Labs. In an email, Gerhardt explained how the idea for a live recording of the podcast came about:

I had been talking to the team at General Assembly and we really wanted to find a way to work together.  They are all about learning and education, and Tech In Boston is all about sharing the stories from the people building companies here in Boston and the things they’ve learned along the way in their career, so it was a good fit.

According to the EverTrue website, Brent Grinna founded the startup after volunteering to run reunion fundraising for his alma mater, Brown University, as a way “to bring the technological advances of the for-profit sector to the mission-driven nonprofit world.” The company uses institutional and social media knowledge to help nonprofits raise money—and just raised some money itself, an $8 million Series B round.
