Sidney Crosby has done much to endear himself to his rivals in the Atlantic Division as a prolific diver. Sure, he’s an incredibly gifted player – if not the most gifted. But with his ability comes an insatiable desire to embellish the smallest of bumps to draw an interference and tripping call. Because the Bruins play the Penguins only two or three times in the regular season any given year, Crosby has yet to wear thin on the nerves of the B’s faithful. But after Crosby’s cheap shot on Tuukka Rask and suckerpunch on Zdeno Chara at the end of the second period in Game 1, he has already guaranteed himself a less than savory welcome for at the Garden when the Bruins return home Wednesday.

Here’s a few more reasons why.

1. He dives.

2. He refuses the postgame handshake.

You just won the Stanley Cup; you have every reason to celebrate. But before you do, a little sportsmanship would go a long way – especially toward one of the greatest defensemen of the last quarter century.

3. He dives.

4. He slew-foots.

Slew-footing is a dangerous play that leaves a player defenseless to the impact that follows. Jeff Skinner slew-footed Patrice Bergeron this year in the regular season. Bergeron, who rarely fights, saw this as a threat to his career, promptly confronted Skinner.

5. He doesn’t finish what he starts.

An errant elbow or crosscheck by Crosby after the whistle results in a heated scrum in front of the net. Of course, Crosby is nowhere to be found.

6. When he does fight, he just tugs and slaps.

7. He dives.

8. That mustache.

9. He beat Team USA in the 2010 Olympics… with Jarome Iginla.

Three years later, still hurts to watch.

10. He dives.

The resulting call was so egregious it made Milbury and J.R. agree with one another, if for only a fleeting minute.

The Bruins seek to gain a two-game edge on the Penguins on the road tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC and 98.5 The Sports Hub.
