For those of you who think the North End is made exclusively for fanny-pack wearing tourists and pasta (lots of pasta), you’re in luck. According to their website, Tenoch taqueria will open Monday, February 10.

The Medford-based taqueria announced in 2013 that they would be moving into the North End – adding some much-needed spice to the neighborhood, which is largely dominated by Italian restaurants.

I spoke with two North End residents, both in their mid to late-twenties who expressed excitement over the restaurant opening. “Right now, we have so many Italian food and dessert options. On every corner, there’s a place you can get pasta or gelato, which is great. But it’ll be nice to have some more variety too,” one of the residents told me.

Boston.com reported to have spoken with Alvaro Sandoval, owner of Tenoch, who told them that the taqueria will “open their highly anticipated North End branch on Monday, February 10.” Right in time for a cheap Valentine’s Day date option (just sayin’).

On their website, Tenoch taqueria describes itself as bringing “authentic, affordable, high quality Mexican food to the Boston area.” They are currently located at 24 Riverside Ave. in Medford Square. And have announced via their website: “IT’S HAPPENING! Tenoch Mexican restaurant is opening at 3 Lewis Street in the North End on Monday, February 10, 2014.”

So there you have it North end patrons – it’s happening.
