Apple’s online store is down today prior to the Cupertino, CA-based company’s iPhone release event from its campus headquarters. Instead of its digital collection of smartphones, tablets, music players, and laptops, the Apple Store website has a single disclaimer that reads boldly “We’ll be back. We’re busy updating the Apple Store for you and will be back soon.”

The Apple Store’s outage is nothing to be concerned about as this is what typically occurs as the electronics giant updates its inventory to make room for what’s to be put on display during Apple’s press event. Today the Apple faithful will be overrunning the internet for the latest information on today’s iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, and iOS 7 amongst the other goodies Apple may surprise us with.

The big draw today will be Apple’s iPhone 5S, the latest installment of its flagship smartphone. It’s thought the device will be comparable in size to its predecessor measuring in with a 4-inch IGZO display, a 12MP rear-facing camera, dual-LED flash with ƒ/2.0 lens, the aforementioned fingerprint recognition technology, 2GB of RAM, and Apple’s new A7 processor.

The usual 16GB and 32 GB variants will be made available but there’s also been talks of a 128GB version, the first of its kind. Why Apple needs to produce a device with so much storage space is unclear at this point, but seems almost useless. I mean, does anyone ever really need that much storage on their smartphone?

Apple will also be introducing graphite and gold color options to go along with its traditional black and white. This is Apple’s first foray into colors that aren’t black and white, so it’ll be interesting to see how well they sell in comparison to its signature color scheme.

Stay tuned to BostInno for the latest information regarding Apple’s next-generation product lineup. We’ll be live streaming the event on our homepage so be sure to check in for all Apple details as they become available.
