A new restaurant is coming to the North End but it’s not where you might expect. The Dining Room, a new “restaurant inside a restaurant” concept is popping up inside of the popular North End restaurant, The Living Room.

According to an official source, Executive Chef Andreas Edlbauer, formerly of the Ritz Carlton in St. Louis, will help launch and develop The Dining Room restaurant concept. Chef Edlbauer’s plans to bring sophisticated twists on global comfort food to Boston, notes a source.

You can expect plenty of globally-inspired cuisine including Ahi Tuna Poke with wakame, wonton, ginger and Sriracha; Moules a la Biere Blanche; Crab Agnolotti; Schnitzel with Gurkensalat and German potato salad; and Chicken Balti with naan bread and North Indian spices.

The Dining Room will feature “new furniture, new interior colors, and new floors to help create the intimate atmosphere that Chef Andreas and Proprietor John Hauck were striving for when launching their new dining concept,” notes a release.

The restaurant inside of a restaurant will be open for brunch, dinner and will offer a casual lunch menu served inside The Living Room portion of the eatery. The Living Room’s Bar Manager, Jen Devine, will oversee The Dining Room’s beverage program, which will include a rotating cocktail list with both classic and modern libations.

An official source tells us that The Dining Room will be open to the public as of Thursday, May 29. If you go, the restaurant is located inside the Living Room in the Mercantile Wharf Building at 101 Atlantic Ave.
