The Fenway is bringing people into the neighborhood by way of a unique event series: The Mom & Pop-Ups launched in September with Union Square ice cream donut sandwiches, and it’s continuing throughout the month with more experiences that will appeal to any and all Bostonians interested in art, dining and retail in the city.

This week, fashion and beauty take center stage during the Mom & Pop-Up series, as retail and beauty companies will set up shop for trunk shows, manicures and treats in order to promote small businesses and the local economy. On Thursday, Boston-based boutique shopping app and e-commerce marketplace Boutikey is hosting a trunk show with Pretty Reckless and Mass Apparel, which sell modern women’s and men’s fashions. Manicube will also be on hand with $15 manicures, and refreshments will be provided in the form of smoothies from Nourish Your Soul and macarons from Miam Miam.

The event lasts from 5 to 9 p.m. at 1377 Boylston Street, and the trunk show will be followed by a party at the Sweet Cheeks beer garden, with a 50/50 raffle offering up prizes. The whole event is hosted in conjunction with the American Breast Cancer Society, and a portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to Making Strides, an organization in support of breast cancer awareness.

Each event during the Mom & Pop-Up series is designed to combine a unique shopping or dining experience with the familiar personality of a local business. As the website site describes it, the series is a “hand-picked collection of local makers & shakers that will bring a rotating mash-up of experiences to The Fenway.” The series will pick up again with an afternoon run from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, this time with a pop-up featuring “Secret Ships: Clothing and Home Goods,” a mobile shop launching locally made goods collected by a Somerville costume designer.
