If you haven’t paid a culinary rendezvous out to Brookline’s quickly evolving Washington Square in a while – then it’s time you hail a cab in that direction.

And if you plan on visiting soon (and are on a budget), we recommend hitting up The Fireplace restaurant this winter. Besides a cozy atmosphere where you’ll feel at home, the eatery is also serving up “Humble Offerings.”

This means that Sunday through Thursday, The Fireplace will feature dinner specials that happen to be “humbly priced.” Nothing over $20, the Humble Offerings menu features different dishes each week – and trust us – you’re getting your money’s worth.

This week, the restaurant is serving up a “sweet potato version” of their “Taste of Thanksgiving” meal. Then starting in March, The Fireplace’s Humble Offerings will include baked pasta, classic chicken pot pie, bacon wrapped meatloaf, and cornmeal encrusted haddock.

For a full list of The Fireplace’s Humble Offerings, check out their menu. Which week you choose to dine at the Brookline restaurant is up to you –  although we recommend the week of bacon wrapped meatloaf (just sayin’).
