When it comes to Boston’s North End neighborhood, there’s certainly no shortage of Italian restaurants. From pizzas and pastas, to cannoli and cappuccinos – the options are somewhat limited (not complaining) to mostly Italian fare. But as someone who spends a lot of time in the area, I’m always excited to hear when a non-Italian restaurant moves in. And it looks like even more variety could be heading to the North End soon.

First there was Pinkberry followed by Tenoch Taqueria and the upcoming Urban Cantina – and now, The Juicery. The smoothie and organic juice shop is looking to open a North End location.

NorthEndWaterfront.com reported today that “Alex Vandermark is applying for zoning relief to open a juice store in the former location of DePasquale Pasta Shop.”

Boston Restaurant Talk also reported that Alex Vandermark runs The Juicery in Portsmouth, NH and “based on the menu at that location, it appears that the North End outlet could also have salads, wraps, and more in addition to smoothies and juices.”

Not going to lie – it’ll be nice to have other food options in the North End besides straight-up carbs (it’s a love/hate relationship). According to the Juicery’s website, the shop will offer all-natural smoothies like their Blueberry Mint and Kale Storm – as well as juice cleanse deals.

Those interested can order a special detox package that includes organic juices, healthy meals, coaching and a booklet with more information.

Let’s just hope this places opens in time for bathing suit season. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about The Juicery’s expansion into Boston’s North End.
