It’s no shock that Louis Vuitton, part of the monogram elite, would craft an entire collection in honor of its beloved L.V. initials. For its “Celebrating Monogram” collaboration, the French fashion house tapped the creative genius of six influential designers, artists, and architects, including Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Louboutin, and Frank Gehry. In 160 years of business, the LV pattern has catapulted to one of the world’s most recognizable brand logos – but this group was asked to reinterpret as they saw fit.

The finished bags, ranging from a shearling-trimmed backpack to a super-luxe punching bag, were photographed by Karl himself for Harper’s BAZAAR‘s October issue. Each part of the collection was shot with the “iconoclast” who designed it, resulting in a colorful spread that perfectly captures the personalities of the creators.
