You’ve likely heard of Journeyman, the restaurant in Somerville’s Union Square known for its prestigious prix-fixe menus that put all trust in the chefs’ hands. There’s no menu to browse over before visiting, just a price: $85 for dinner, $55 for an alcohol pairing; the rest is up to the team in the kitchen.

Of course, you’re going to get a great experience at the restaurant with its renowned chefs, Tse Wei Lim and his wife Diana Kudajarova, running the operation. But if a pricey prix-fixe isn’t in the cards for you unless the most special of occasions arises, listen up. Per the Boston GlobeLim and Kudajarova are planning to open a new restaurant inside of Kendall Square’s Broad Institute building at 73-75 Ames Street by the end of this summer.

Dubbed Study, after the restaurant’s planned ‘academic’ inspiration, the space is the next venture from the Journeyman team, and this time, their operation will have a menu serving a la carte options for breakfast, lunch and dinner in Cambridge. While it will be a step below the pristine atmosphere of Journeyman, it will still live up to the esteemed chefs’ standards.

Across the street from Study’s forthcoming space in Kendall Square, Lim and Kudajarova are planning to expand their empire further. They’ll also open the Ames Street Deli, a fast-paced restaurant that will serve cocktails and sandwiches all day long. No word on when the deli will open, but stay tuned for two delicious additions headed to Kendall Square.
