The experts at Pantone have spoken: Radiant Orchid is 2014’s color of the year. A shade of purple with fuchsia and pink undertones, Pantone describes the color as a “surprisingly versatile shade” that can be worn by both men and women.

I know what you’re thinking – fuchsia for men? It’s a hard enough for women to wear without looking like Barbie. But before you shoot down Pantone’s prediction, just remember Emerald, 2013’s color of the year. It was everywhere. Which means you should probably prepare yourself for plenty of pinky-purple dresses, sofas, walls, and more. In fact, Radiant Orchid has already made it into Juicy Couture’s and Yoana Baraschi’s Spring 2014 collections. And you know what? I don’t hate it.
