While the weather is finally heating up, that doesn’t exactly mean we’re over our ramen craze. The noodle soup has made big leaps from the 89-cent Top Ramen packets of the past (well, those are still available, but anyway). No longer is ‘ramen’ associated with budget-strapped post grads and the ill, and the local ramen restaurants have proven that.

And today, ramen lovers should rejoice. Totto Ramen, an NYC-based restaurant specializing in chicken broth based soup, opens today, May 3, in Allston. According to Eater, the new (and only) Massachusetts location is the result of a Totto fan, former lawyer Nghi Nguyen, who decided to up and open a local restaurant after two years of inquiring when the company would be expanding to Boston. Let’s just get that straight: This ramen is so good, it inspired someone to leave their law career just to have it closer to home. That’s dedication.

The new Allston spot is located on Brighton Avenue, next to Tavern in the Square, so hop to it today to get the first taste of the noodle dishes. Per the Totto website, no reservations, take out or delivery orders are accepted. Take a look at the NYC menu below for an idea of what to expect (Cold Ramen, anyone?) and head over to Eater for a sneak peek inside the fresh new space.
