Somerville is smoking hot, for sure. But this four-bed, one-bath that just hit the market – not so much.

About this time last year, we put a September 1 Brighton apartment under the microscope. That unit – a duplex – was renting for almost $1,000 per bed, and, as BostInno’s managing editor Alex Weaver wrote at the time, had “the gall to go online without the courtesy of cleaning up first.” Because it didn’t need to; everyone knew it was going to get swept off the market fast.

This Somerville unit we’re focusing on Tuesday morning – same thing.

Ravaged curtains, severely under-made bed, and an off-centered painting: this Somerville apartment is a smoking hot mess. But yeah, a group of roommates will lock down a lease very, very soon.

According to the Craigslist listing, which was posted Tuesday morning, the unit features hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings and skylights. Also, it’s got a dishwasher, a modern kitchen, and stainless steel appliances. It’s less than a quarter-mile away from the Porter Square Red Line stop, and six different bus routes, too.

Yep, despite renting for $1,150 per room, that place doesn’t need to clean up for anyone.
