U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren is promoting her new memoir A Fighting Chance at the First Parish Church at 1446 Massachusetts Ave. in Cambridge, on Thursday April 24, at 7p.m. The event, sponsored by Harvard Book Store and Boston Review, have $5 tickets on sale starting Tuesday.

Warren will discuss the various topics written in her memoir including her upbringing in Oklahoma City to becoming a professor at Harvard, to her current role as senior U.S. Senator from Massachusetts.

The book is a fighting call for protecting the middle class, the backbone of America, to working towards building a stronger country. It also covers her battle to campaign for, and subsequently work in, the Senate. It goes through her experience in establishing the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and her effort to reveal the truth behind the $700 billion bank bailout.

Warren’s memoir also delves into her personal life, illuminating her ability to access education that allowed her as a young wife and mother to become a teacher, then a lawyer. A Fighting Chance exemplifies the conflict that America is facing between big institutions and everyday citizens.

You can buy tickets online at harvard.com or call 617-661-1515. The event will not include a public signing of books but you can pre-order signed copies here online.

On April 25, Warren will be at the Worcester State University at 2 p.m. followed by Springfield Technical Community College at 7 p.m.

On May 16 at 11 a.m., Warren will appear at the JFK Library in Boston to talk about her new book.
