Announced formally today following $7.7M in additional financing the end of April, Boston based Visible Measures has teamed up with iMedia Connection to release a Top 10 Brands in Video Chart every month on their site.

This follows a series of content partnerships by Visible Measures on the online video ranking front, including the Ad Age Viral Video Chart, Variety Top 10 Online Film Trailers Chart, and Motor Trend Top Auto Ads Chart.

Online video and social media are helping boom an entirely new online advertising landscape, one where consumers actually choose to watch ads that entertain them. This Top 10 Brands in Video Chart released monthly will help marketers navigate what new marketing videos and brands are resonating best with consumers. The measurement and analytics behind the chart of course comes from Visible Measures’ video analytics platform, ranked using Visible Measures’ True Reach and Share of Choice analyses.

Visible Measures’ founder and CEO Brian Shin explained of the partnership,

“Consumers are increasingly choosing to watch video advertising, and our goal with the iMedia Top 10 Brands in Video Chart is to highlight the brands best positioned for a future ruled by consumers. iMedia is a premier publication for brand advertisers and their agencies and a wonderful home for Visible Measures’ unique industry-wide data, or Share of Choice, which allows us to benchmark brand performance across the entire video landscape and produce the iMedia Top 10 Brands in Video Chart.”

If you’re interested in learning more about the role of choice in online video, last month Visible Measures’ Director of Marketing contributed a guest article on the thought leadership portion of BostInnovation: “Social and Viral Are Great, but the Real Future of Video Advertising is Choice.”

This month’s Top 10 Brands in Video Chart is below. Unfortunately, no Boston brands — unless one of the big brand agencies here would like to let us know in the comments they were part of the genius behind the videos. Have you seen any of the below?
