Treat Yo’ Self is an ongoing BostInno series that highlights a deal in the city where you can indulge without suffering financial ruin. Check back every week for a new way to pretend you’re rich – we’ll even provide the most appropriate scenario to accompany the bargains.

Who: We all have that one friend who just can’t put down their cell phone. If it’s not a work email from their boss, then it’s a call from mom or a text from a Tinder date. Sigh. Thankfully, we’ve got a lunch idea that will absolutely force your friend to put aside that phone and actually, you know, listen.

What: Salvatore’s Restaurants is offering a special FREE lunch to diners who stop using their smartphones long enough to enjoy the meal. Dubbed “Off the Grid Mondays,” this weekly event will allow diners to “buy one entrée, get one free” when they turn in their tech devices at the host stand before eating.

When: Salvatore’s Restaurants are offering this “Off the Grid” deal every Monday from noon to 3 p.m.

Where: Starting this week, every Salvatore’s Restaurant location is featuring the unplugged deal. The restaurant has a location in the Seaport, Theatre District, Medford Square, Andover, and Lawrence, Mass. Check their exact locations, here.

Why: Because this may be your only chance to talk to your smartphone-addicted friend that doesn’t include a text or an email. And it’s a free lunch, obviously.

How: All locations are accessible by public transit – including Andover and Lawrence which are accessible by Commuter Rail.
